Nursery and Reception

At Poolsbrook Primary Academy, our Early Years is where the journey starts and environment is a vibrant hub of learning and exploration, meticulously crafted around our young learners. Rooted in our enquiry-based curriculum, it nurtures curiosity and creativity, fostering a love for learning. We prioritise the child's individuality, creating a supportive atmosphere where they thrive academically and emotionally, laying a strong foundation for their future education.

We offer 15 and 30 hours free nursery provision for qualifying families and children. Children then transition into our Reception classes in the year they turn 5 year old. Our curriculum for the Early Years is based on the EYFS Framework with a balance of adult directed and child initiated learning both indoors and outdoors. Learning is centred around strong interactions with adults and a focus on developing language and early reading skills.
