Welcome

Welcome to the home of Poolsbrook Primary Academy online.

We are a small village school situated at the edge of the beautiful surroundings of Poolsbrook Country Park. The view from the front of the school is magnificent and it this link to the outdoors that makes Poolsbrook such an amazing school to be part of.

We are very proud of our school and our location and this can be seen on our Poolsbrook Primary Academy logo, which reflects the the village's mining past ( the wheel and the lamp) and the country park ( the trees and the wildlife) . The band across the middle also links to the George Barrow Family Coat of Arms, who through marriage to Elizabeth Mather Lowe, became the proprietor of the Staveley Forge and Iron Works which built many of the houses in Poolsbrook village for the miners and their families.

The original 'mining houses' may be gone but the school continues to recognise this heritage as school 'houses' are named after prominent mines in the local area Markham, Bolsover, Arkwright and Ireland.

We are incredibly proud of our children who are kind, caring and have a real love of learning. We are so proud of their individual talents and their positive approach to learning coupled with their inquisitive minds. They are a credit to their parents and their school!

Why not come and see for yourself - you will be guaranteed a warm welcome from the Poolsbrook family!

Please do not hesitate to contact the school office or the headteacher, Miss Louise Tate should you require additional information not available through the website.
