Fuelling Young Minds for a Brighter Future!
Welcome to the home of Poolsbrook Primary Academy online.
We are a small village school situated at the edge of the beautiful surroundings of Poolsbrook Country Park. The view from the front of the school is magnificent and it this link to the outdoors that makes Poolsbrook such an amazing school to be part of.
We are very proud of our school and our location and this can be seen on our Poolsbrook Primary Academy logo, which reflects the villages' mining past ( the wheel and the lamp) and the country park ( the trees and the wildlife) . The band across the middle also links to the George Barrow Family Coat of Arms, who through marriage to Elizabeth Mather Lowe, became the proprietor of the 'Staveley Forge and Iron Works' which built many of the houses in Poolsbrook village for the miners and their families.
We will be raising money for @BBCCiN tomorrow. Remember to bring £1 for dressing in sporty or spotty clothes and 50p to buy a tasty treat we will be making during the morning! #BrightSparks
Today in Blue Whales, we were balancing on a beam trying to improve our stance. Brilliant teamwork was demonstrated #BrightSparks https://t.co/k4LATEsxil
This morning, our builders 'found' this box of items! The children were so engrossed into what they could be and when they were from. Brilliant discussion in our assembly to kick start our history learning topic! #BrightSparks https://t.co/44mV7cmFbh
