Fuelling Young Minds for a Brighter Future!
Welcome to the home of Poolsbrook Primary Academy online.
We are a small village school situated at the edge of the beautiful surroundings of Poolsbrook Country Park. The view from the front of the school is magnificent and it this link to the outdoors that makes Poolsbrook such an amazing school to be part of.
We are very proud of our school and our location and this can be seen on our Poolsbrook Primary Academy logo, which reflects the villages' mining past ( the wheel and the lamp) and the country park ( the trees and the wildlife) . The band across the middle also links to the George Barrow Family Coat of Arms, who through marriage to Elizabeth Mather Lowe, became the proprietor of the 'Staveley Forge and Iron Works' which built many of the houses in Poolsbrook village for the miners and their families.
We've been busy learning about the Tudor's the past couple of weeks the children have enjoyed creating some art! #BrightSparks https://t.co/DG4FIK3ZZ3
Some beautiful bubble art created in the Green Turtles bubble today. #BrightSpark https://t.co/KP3HEm4Dau
In the Green Turtles bubble we have been busy taking photos of nature, editing them and creating our own collages. #BrightSparks https://t.co/eo64HxKTax
We have been busy recreating 'Starry Night'. We used clay to create a tile shape and then added what would have been brush strokes into it. The final step was adding a pop of colour! #BrightSparks https://t.co/i4CZ9eBcvs
