Accident Procedures and Medications

Minor accidents and illnesses are dealt with in school. The incident is recorded and the child is checked by the qualified First Aider who will then send a note to notify you of the incident. This note, alerting you to the incident or injury, will be handed to the child to bring home at the end of the day. If you require more information about the incident please do not hesitate to contact the school. Parents are reminded that we can only deal with incidents or injuries if they are reported to a member of staff.

We can only administer water or an ice pack. For any injuries needing further treatment we will contact you immediately. For more serious injuries or accidents, emergency accident procedures are taken.

Therefore, it is extremely important that the school has up to date information with regard to contacting you.

Medications

Under the current Health and Safety Regulations, we have to inform you that children are not allowed to bring "medicines" into school.

Special arrangements can be made for children with prescribed medicine. Written instructions concerning times and dosage required must be given.
